Bonus for this weekend’s adventurous dinner on the farm attendees!
Standing Cedars Community Land Conservancy, only miles from Common Harvest Farm, offers beautiful hiking trails through the forests, fields, and bluff lands along the Lower St. Croix River.
Head out early on Sunday to explore the three ecosystems that converge here: Northern Boreal Forest, Eastern Hardwood, and Tall Grass Prairie. A diverse and committed group of St. Croix Valley residents have worked hard to protect more than 1,500 acres of natural areas along the river.
Be prepared to be amazed as you encounter rare native plants, interesting springs where water bubbles up through the sand, an old ski area from the 1950′s and 60′s, dry cliffs and former farm fields. Maps of public areas here.
Then, come to the farm to relax with a cold one, eat delicious food and listen to live music by the bonfire.
