Restaurant Alma is one of the most prestigious restaurants in the Twin Cities. It also happens to be a favorite of mine. It was voted Best New Restaurant, Best Restaurant, Best Neighborhood Cafe, and Best Chef Minneapolis by City Pages. Owner and Executive Chef, Alex Roberts, was also awarded the James Beard Award for Best Chef 2010.
Picture a rustic, warm, historic space with high, open-beam ceilings and exposed brick. And the coolest part? The open kitchen. It’s already a winner in my book, and I haven’t even gotten to the food.
Specializing in three-course tasting menus that change every six to eight weeks, Restaurant Alma sources its ingredients from top-quality, local, organic growers. They also take great care in crafting all of their own stocks, sauces, breads, pastries and ice creams from scratch. The food is among the best I’ve had here in the Twin Cities, so if you’ve never been, it’s an absolute must!
We couldn’t be more grateful that Restaurant Alma will be lending us the extremely talented Matt Sprague for our August 12 dinner at Hidden Stream Farm. I can’t wait to see what he cooks up from their selection of grass-fed beef, chicken and pork. We’ll also be enjoying beer from Minneapolis-based Fulton Brewery, and a portion of your ticket price will go toward supporting the Land Stewardship Project. For ticket information, click here.
Hope to see you there!
